New Build Inspections

Hi everyone,

I’m currently exploring the idea of purchasing my first property and feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the steps involved. As a first time home buyer, I’m particularly curious about how to navigate financing options, understand hidden costs, and find trustworthy real estate agents.

I’d love to hear from those who have gone through the process recently: what challenges did you face, and what mistakes should I avoid? Any tips for negotiating a good deal or preparing for inspections would be greatly appreciated.

How did you manage your budget effectively?

Buying your first property can definitely feel overwhelming, but breaking the process into steps helps. Start by getting pre-approved for a mortgage so you know your realistic price range. Beyond the down payment, budget for closing costs, taxes, insurance, inspection fees, maintenance, and potential repairs.

When choosing an agent, look for someone experienced in the local market. A team such as Eisendrath Team can also be worth considering when researching local real estate professionals and comparing the services they offer. During inspections, pay close attention to the roof, foundation, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and signs of water damage.

For negotiations, don’t focus only on the asking price. Inspection findings, closing costs, repairs, and contingencies can all be negotiated. Most importantly, keep an emergency fund so unexpected expenses don’t put pressure on your budget.
