Quick opinions please

Hi all

Im after a bit of advice. This image is the front door porch over my new home. Apart from the fact that the idiots haven't even put screws into the flashing I wanted to confirm if this was even the right way to install flashing as the show home had the flashing stepped into the brickwork..

Grateful for anyones thoughts.

I'm surprised at that because the nhbc guidelines say it should be stepped. So that means i have no recourse to get it done "right"

The following applies to small/bay roofs as well as main roofs:

Where a pitched roof abuts the wall at an angle, a
stepped cavity tray linked to a stepped flashing
should be used. Stepped flashings should be cut
from a strip at least 150mm wide.

Why doesnt this apply?

YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD WHEN YOU SAID GUIDELINES

the builder can use other acceptable methods that meet the technical standards , the guidelines just show one way of meeting standards

trust me ....been here many times before

I am finding it very hard to find the "standards" it says they should do it and they didn't. Today they agreed to put it right so i might have got lucky.

hey if youre getting what you want ....thats great

i see porch canopies like your installed with other materials instead of lead ( to save money) and these too get signed off by the NHBC

Disgraceful. They haven't done it yet so i guess we will see. But if they do it a certain way for showhome then they should do the same elsewhere. Really annoys me.
