New Build Local Construction Company Cracking Floors

New Build Inspections

I have a new build house just over 12 months old, with an issue regarding cracking and noisy floors. The floor boards were originally glued and nailed to the joists and the builder has been recently out and also screwed the boards to the top of joists in addition.

What I have noticed is that when the noise is heard in the room downstairs it is possible to ever so slightly push up the plasterboard ceiling beneath, as though it is the movement of the ceiling on its fixings caused by the pressure of walking about on the floor above which could be the cause of the problem.

Ther eis aslo signs of blistering paintwork on the ceiling which may indicate nail/screw heads are popping.

Has anyone else had a similar issue and what action needed to be taken to resolve it?

It also sounds almost as if the sound is coming from the walls with the joist ends rather than the floor or ceiling.
