I have a brand new Jones Homes apartment in Warrington. All three external stonecast window cills are cracked. Out of a total of 52 cills in the apartment block, 33 cills are cracked. Jones will not do anything about it as they say the cracks are cosmetic. I have arranged arbitration with the NHBC, who have looked at the cills and they stated that as the cracks are not structural, they will not get involved.
Any suggestions where I go to next ?

Depends how old the block/home is and when you or your managing agent first reported the cracks to the cills to Jones.
If it was within the first two years, Jones homes are still on the hook for this.
NHBC are quite right, the cills are not structural and not covered in years 3-10 of the warranty.

If nothing is done, the weather will disintegrate the cills causing a big maintenance bill for all flat owners so it is in everyone's interests to take action on this, not just you!

    Thanks NewHomeExpert.
Would do you think our next step should be ?
I have contacted the UK Cast Stone Association.
Their view is that we have a case, but they do not want to get involved in the "politics" as presumably one of their members has either supplied the cills or installed the cills.

Forgot to mention that the apartment block is new build and the fault was reported at handover.

I gathered it is new build.
Why not write to Jones Homes and complain one last time.
Write to the NHBC and say Jones Homes are not prepared to do anything about it.
Write to your managing agents and ask what THEY are going to do about it.
Contact your neighbours and get them to write to Jones homes and the NHBC.
Use twitter ad facebook to warn people about jones Homes.
Join the Unhappy New Home Owners Facebook group.
Write to newspapers and contact BBC Watchdog.

All quite obvious and simple actions that require a bit more effort than just posting on forums.
