Do not buy a Taylor Wimpey Home

New Build Inspections

I moved into my Taylor Wimpey home in June 2021 and reported major issues with the flooring—including 19 visible bumps, gaps, and curling—within the required timeframe. Despite repeated contact over two years through emails, calls, and meetings, no proper repairs were carried out. Attempts by contractors were inadequate, and Taylor Wimpey repeatedly missed appointments or failed to bring necessary materials.

They later denied the issues had been raised within the two-year window, forcing me to resend proof. Even an independent report was dismissed. Customer service was dismissive, scheduling was inflexible, and the process severely impacted my wellbeing.

When Taylor Wimpey finally acknowledged the bumps, they claimed everything was “within tolerance” without offering supporting documentation. Their only solutions were patch repairs or a small financial offer that didn’t reflect the scope of the problem. Promises to cover lost wages were also withdrawn.

Four years on, the issue remains unresolved. I would not recommend Taylor Wimpey based on this experience.
