In February we purchased a £369,000 5 bedroom house on the Belway Mosaic development in Peterborough. Our initial joy soon turned to absolute despair !
We carried out the pre completion inspection 7 days before completion and were assured by the sales staff that around 20 defects would be corrected before completion. When completion day came around only 4 of the jobs had been done and the shoddy workmanship actually created another 2 problems !
Now four months later we are still waiting for the faults to be corrected. They have now asked a property maintenance company to do the work for them, however because they are so busy repairing and correcting faults on various Belway sites they cant even start the work for another 2 months.
Our advice is don't under any circumstances buy a Belway home. As soon as they have your money they don't want to know !

You should have the ho e professionally inspected abd snagged. It is always better to pay for an expert.

They are not known as Hellway homes for nothing!
You should have done your reasearch!

    Mosaic Peterborough Update

Thanks for all your comments, Just to bring my original post up to date - Having spoke to neighbours who are having similar problems on this development of just 36 detached homes, it seems that virtually all of us have outstanding issues and remedial repairs. NHBC have now intervened and my remedial work is being carried out during July (fingers crossed). But frankly Belway's attitude stinks ! They should really rename their "Customer Aftercare Department" the "Could'nt Care Less Department" !
Or as one of the commenters said - Belway, more like Hell Way !

Bellway Homes is not known as "Hellway Homes" for nothing!
In fact most house builders have a "Customer don't care" department too!

This is why we need a New Homes Ombudsman!

So come on everyone, write to your MP.
Their E mail addresses are surnameinitial@parliament.uk For David Cameron would be camerond@parliament.uk

here is a draft to "cut and paste"
