Hi
Bought a new home from Barratts a year ago and in this
time we have had sever flooding 4 times to our garden and garage.
The last two times water entered our house, will post video footage
tomorrow night.(some fantastic water falls). We have a meeting with them tomorrow as we have asked for a full refund as we may have a house which we could never sell on.Anyone else have experience with barratts buying there home back from them. link to video footage on photobucket will be putting it up on utube soon as i think better quality. http://s1241.photobucket.com/albums/gg508/KeithSzymo/?action=view&current=014.mp4

Thanks Keith

Don't know what these photos are except a waste of my time!

Flooding around the home is covered by the NHBC warranty:
You may like to know that the latest standards say something like this:-
"There must be a 3m area around the home where waterlogging should
not occur. It is important that homeowners are able to access the refuse bin position, patio areas or the rotary clothesline facility, without getting wet feet."

Barratt may buy back your home if it means they will save themselves from a lot of expense and adverse publicity.
For example if major work was required meanng the owners would need to move out for several months.
I doubt in your case they would buy your house, as the problem can be fixed by land drainage and Ako channels.
Are other houses affected by the same problem?
Are you in a flood risk area?
