Default stewart milne

We bought our new house last May - Hamilton. Since then a catalogue of disasters has happened. No drains, they spliced wires together to get central heating to work - still this way, central heating had to be topped up daily as leaked. Utility ext door pours water in - not just round door but thro plasterwork - this is all crumbling and going into holes. The stairs had to reinforced as they were coming away from wall - happening again. kitchen worktops had to be replaced as damaged when we moved in, sink rusted. Plumbers that are rude and tell u that u have a cheek asking for new flooring when they hace cut holes in it to allow the sink pedestal to be straightened. The shower leaked and came thro ceiling. On move day - water was coming thro a different part of ceiling. This is not even a tenth of the problems - Come on - QUALITY BUILDER - Who are they kidding. Another manager coming out on Monday - Lets see what happens - Probably same as usual - Lip service.

There seems to be a whole raft of problems with Stewart Milne Homes, and I do feel sorry for people who are still buying from them. I keep wanting to say to people looking round the estate that they will be making a mistake, but hey, the more of us in this boat......!
Very few of the snags we listed have been fixed even 4 weeks after complaining, and NONE of those highlighted to us by the Site Manager (no less) when we moved in more than 9 weeks ago.
I've heard tell that if you hand your snagging list in to the site office, you are wasting your time - it will be a good 'delaying' tactic for them as there are no records?
Send it to Head Office by Recorded Delivery. At least you'll know whether anyone has received it.
And don't get too down, there's an awful lot of us in exactly the same boat. Is it time to talk?
Me, I'm off to see my solicitor....
