Another SM site, another SM series of problems, mismanagement and unprofesional behaviour.

We have a property on this site and have had continual issues with SM and their lack of customer service and basic professionalism. They cannot even get the basics right so what is the chance of actually getting resolution to any problems.

They appear to adopt the "if we ignore the problem or tinker with a fix" then the client will eventually get fed up.

From speaking to other residents the story is so familiar to other posts on this site and frankly this isn't good enough. Our problems range from poor internal finishing to garden issue's including flooding (to which they have had a number of attempts at fixing by applying the logic of 'lets join as many piece's of drainage together until we eventually fix the issue' rather than investigating the root cause and agreeing the correct action

Our approach so far has been via e-mail and conversations on-site, clearly without much success, a change of tact is needed and perhaps a more direct approach will work although have my doubts.........!

We are currently considering buying at this development and would appreciate any comments re current state of play with after sales service that we can confront sales staff with... may be of help to others banging their heads against the wall at the moment.

The after sales and pre sales are similar, by that I mean they both fail to deliver promises in equal measure. We have lost count of the number of items that need/needed fixed and we have had to continually chase. SM are not proactive post sales and pre sale they will hound you until you are tied into a deal then they will promise a customer service that is excellent, well we can certainly advise that customer service is almost non existent.

If you decide to buy try ensure you take note of all defects, the date found and date reported (and to who), you will need this when you need to chase them!

The sales girl has been great, discussed our concerns and put our minds at rest...really can't fault their service so far.
At least they should still be 'on site' for the some time to come and should have no excuses rectifying the inevitable 'snagging' that goes hand in hand with any type of construction.
Will keep an eye on the forum for any updates.
