Angry New Stewart Milne Home issues

We bought a new Stewart Milne home just over a year ago.

The date of entry to the house was delayed by 5 weeks, however the main problem with this was that we were only informed of the delays a week at a time.

This meant that we had to re-shedule carpet fittings several times, as well as the other associated hasstle.

We reported a list of snagging last September, and most of the work is still not done.

We are now selling our house, and the purchacer is making it a condition of the sale that the snagging work is complete by the date of entry. As a result this is putting our house sale in jeopardy.

I'll let you draw your own conclusions from this experience.

Regards, Phil

Phil, I am afraid the only way you can be sure of getting the snagging resolved is to do it yourself or get a general builder to do it for you...

Default Sick of them

I have recommended contacting the MP elsewhere on this site.

Is the house in Dufermline at Linburn Grange and a Newburgh?

I wish you luck!

If only people would work together, Stewart Milne might not get up to their tricks!

Can someone give me the contact details of the MD of Stewart Milne

I am in the Campsie Meadow development and have nearly got all the defects cleared. My neighbours have a major problem getting response from SM.

Default Stewart Milne problems

Hi,

I do not have the name of the MD at Stewart Milne, but I found recently that the best way to get things done is to keep contacting them.

We had a critical situation recently regarding obtaining a Completion Certificate. We are selling our house and the purchasers were insisting on a copy of the Completion Certificate, which was not available at the time (18 months after moving in).

I repeatedly contacted Lynne Wardrope, and she was helpful, however the timing became critical, and I went into their Tannochside office and spoke to Lynne. Within a few hours the completion certificate was available.

Your not far away from their office, and your neighbour could check that Lynne is in and go and visit her.

Its like most things these days, if you don't make a neusance of yourself you don't get anywhere.

Regards,

Phil

Group MD Homes - John Slater - jslater at stewartmilne com or jslater at stewartmilnehomes com (dots etc omitted)

I used to work for a part of SM (not the homes part I hasten to add!) and that's how the email addresses are structured

Hope that helps!

Unhappy Managing Director, UK Homes

The name was John Slater, based at Peregrine House, Mosscroft Avenue, Westhill Business Park, Westhill, Aberdeen, AB32 6JQ (at least it was last year). Writing to him achieved absolutely nothing for me, as he merely passed it down the chain to ineffective staff. Just keep harassing them and contact your MP - it works eventually!!
