Post Plumbing Issues With Glaedale

I bought a new build house from ben bailey 2 years ago. Glaedale took over ben bailey. I have been having plumbing issues since august and cannot get Glaedale to sort out my problems. They are

1. The shower in my ensuite was very powerful but in August it lost its power. It still works but the water pressure now is so much reduced. Glaedale plumber and customer services say it has a pressure of 5 and that is acceptable according to NHBC. If I had bought the house with a shower with this power then fair enough but it was powerful when we bought the house now it isnt. Can they get away with saying that it is acceptable when I dont think it is. All they suggest is buy a new shower head and that will help.

2. The bath leaks and has had 4 visits from their plumbers but it is still leaking. The carpet in the bathroom is ruined and we had to pull it up. They took the panel off the bath so we can see that even though they put sealant around the leaky joint that it is still leaking.

My boyfriend has lost track of how much time he has taken off work to let these workmen/ plumbers in our house. I have contacted NHBC but I am worried that they will agree with Glaedale.

I am waiting to see what NHBC do but is there anythig else anyone can suggest. I am thinking of getting a something that measures water pressure and gettting a reading from my neighbours showers who have the same shower. Do you think could help my case

thanks again

Louise

louise,

undr no circumstances is a houe pressure of 5 lbs/sq in acceptable either from a shower or as a whiole house. there is something wrong with either the shower head (dirty screen) or a problem within the valve itself.

Oh yes I completely agree - the plumbing in the Ben Bailey Gladedale houses is a complete joke. Its the cheapest materials you can get. The radiators are all too small for the rooms and they are all imperial sizes, the shower tray is only big enough for a child to use, the pipes are all plastic and the plumbers were obviously taken from the reject queue. All the seals leak and are really sloppy. Didnt have a clue what they were doing. I have gradually replaced everything I could, new kitchen, bathroom, toilets, radiators and en-suite. I only did this because I had to it was all falling apart and rotting. Shocking plumbing and terrible customer service! Customer Service and Ben Bailey dont go together in the same sentence! Dont buy a Ben Bailey home!
