Angry help on uneven floors

I have just bought a BRAND NEW HOME from Bryant homes on the 11th-Dec-2009, we moved in on Jan 1st-2010 and gave in the 7 day snag list on the 15th-Jan-2009, they came to pick it up late due to the heavy snow issues on the 6th/7th-Jan. One of the points on the list was uneven floors.

We have a concrete floor on the ground floor, Bryant homes have begun work from the begining of this month, however they are not willing to level out the surface according to NHBC standards before laying the tiles.

I hate for them to start laying out the tiles and then I find out that the job is done as bad as it was. The floor is still not levelled out, it is not rocket science but they cannot seem to level out the floor and they do not seem to take the job seriously !

How can I make them stick to following NHBC standards before and after laying out the floor? Please help

I have contacted NHBC but that will take some time till they react and I do not have time.

Why haven't you got time?

I have also come across a case in which the builder told a client that floor screeds where not covered by the NHBC Standards.

He may well have missed the very brief mention of floor screeds in the Standards in Chapter 8.3 D (e) which refers to BS 8204 In situ flooring.

BS8204 tells you all you could possibly ever want to know about laying screed.
This will be of interest: NHBC Guidance
