Creaking & Uneven Floorboards
We have been in our new house for nearly a year now and have had some serious problems with our builders.
The snagging wasn't as bad as some people i've spoken to but as this was a first time buy i think we've not been as thorough as some! Our problems has been with the level of service from our builder (Kier) - they are atrocious.
Our Floorboards were noisy when we moved in but we were spinned the usual line about the house settling etc. We just pushed the issue to the side and dealt with the other issues. Now, nearly a year on it seems to have got worse! The builder has agreed now to look at them but will not lift the fitted carpet or laminate and will not fit them down again either. Is this the norm? I don't particualry think it's fair considering the cost involved. Can anyone advise on how they dealt with this??
Also we've noticed a problem with the ground floor (concrete and covered with floorboards) as it doesn't seem to be level. Numerous pieces of our laminate flooring has broken - we assumed it was the laminate at fault but appears now that the floor is completely uneven.
This worries me quite a bit as it's a concrete floor - has this happened to anyone else?
