I think this happens for a variety of different reasons.

Often they just post something out of shear frustration just to get it off their chest.
Others have a specific question that they need answering.
And some do sign gagging orders in return for compensation.

It is annoying sometimes as you go to the effort to give advice, but don't know the outcome. C'est la vie...

Thanks for your reply,,

i am going to write to the NHBC just to get it off my chest,

All this power these massive developers have is just getting out of hand, if i treated my customers like they do i would be broke...

Yes, that would be really interesting to know if some of the stories did have an happy end. Would also like to know if the NHBC could really help some of the members.

Default A Shattering Experience

I think after you have had what can only be described as "day light robbery" from a builder and you eventually get the defect fixed you do not search this web site the same.

I used this site last year under a different user name. I had to get my own surveyor to remedy the issue. I would like to be of assistance to other home owners and offer my experience of how to get their defects fixed. Wasting your time with the builders and NHBC although a paper protocol. There are other avenues and I think under the present climate for builders if buyers work together the builders will be forced to offer a basic standard of workmanship for the price they charge.
