Default When is a garage not a garage?

... When you can't drive your car into it.

It was with no little surprise that we realised that the garage belonging to our new "luxury" home was merely an expensive 6.08 x 6.08 metre garden shed.

The useable width of each of the two doors is 2.04 metres. This means that the average family car eg a Vauxhall Astra cannot be driven through.

The garage was not yet built and no plans were available at time of purchase but we had no reason to believe that the garage would be fit for purpose.

The builder has refused to remedy the situation and hides behind legalistic jargon of the contract.

Any comments welcome.

Oops!

Should read -

"we had no reason to believe that the garage would not be fit for purpose."

You are not alone most people are unable to use their garages for cars, unless you have a double garage with double doors.
