Taylor Woodrow made my life a misery for months
I can't even begin to tell you all about Bryant / Taylor Woodrow. I can say that the experience of them has put me off new builds for life. They are without doubt, I believe, the most dreadful company I have ever come across...ever!
I bought a new build three bedroom home at £162,500 in April 2007. It took them over five months to complete the snagging and they tried to fob me off constantly. Their pre inspection handover was a joke. Whoever passed it should have been suspended. For example, the kitchen was so poor that the pelmets were coming away, shelves were missing, the gas pipe from the hob had been put in the wrong place, and there were nails sticking out from underneath the worksurfaces. If a child had put their hand under it would have cut them to ribbons. There were other problems with the kitchen, too numerous to mention.
And that was just to start. The windows were all scratched throughout, the external pointing was poor, sills damaged, fencing not put in properly, and on and on.
At no time did they ever say sorry, and they even tried to say that the kitchen was fine. After almost six months I have my keys back, but the the brand new boiler then leaked and flooded the place out. That was not Bryant's fault, but instead of sorting it for me they simply gave me the details of the contractor and told me to ring them. My contract was with Bryant, but the service was so poor that I decided to sort that out myself.
I was a first time buyer and as a single person getting a home was a feat in itself. I worked myself to a frazzle to get on the property ladder, and went for a new build to save me the need to do up an old property. I wished I hadn't bothered. I would have been better getting an older property and doing it up. Never, ever would I touch Bryant. They have made my life hell for months. They were totally unprofessional, never attending to the snagging unless I kept on and on at them. They made me feel as if they were doing me the favour, not me in buying a home of theirs in the first instance.
