Default Snagging defects - for how long valid?

Hi,

Can anyone answer this one please? After a snagging defect has been identified prior to completion, just how long after this period is a developer under an obligation to 'make good'

Any help appreciated,
Jged

Not sure i understand the question.

If you have a warranty such as the one provided by the NHBC for the housebuilders then you can report snags during the first-two years of the warranty.

Once a defect is reproted to them in writing (keep copies) you need to give the builder a reasonable amount of time to put it right, I would say two weeks. However, give them two months then make a complaint to the NHBC.

I hope this helps.

Hi,
Can anyone answer this?
If my shower cubicle leaked around a year after I moved into my new house and the builder came back to rectify it. Would it be fair to expect him to come back again if it failed 2 and a half years later? and if so, is this indefinitely the case until the 10 year warranty has expired?
Regards,
john.
