Help!

Sorry to bore you but I was after some general advice which might seem obvious.

I've put a reservation fee down on a new build home and on the original plan the plot has 1 parking space and access to a visitor space.

There are 5 homes on the overall plot and 9 spaces for parking i.e 1 for each home and 4 visitor spaces.

I have now been contacted by the developer and advised that the plans have changed and I now only have 1 parking space as the 4 visitor spaces have been allocated to ther 4 other homes even though 2 of these have not yet even been purchased.

It is obvious to me that I am now in a worse position than prior to the reservation fee being placed and yet they are so far refusing to provide something to me in return for losing the space.

Effectively, I have paid the house price the same as next door yet they have 2 spaces and I only have 1.

Any advice on what I can do?

Hi,

The visitor spaces are never used by visitors, but by people with second cars. We have three to be shared between 13 homes and they are hardly ever empty. The situation got so bad that one person created a new space in their front garden, and two people others created additional ones in their back gardens.

Parking is still a problem - when looking at the plans assume two cars per household and try to work out where all the cars will go.

So to answer your questions, these spaces are worthless anyway and would not affect the value of your home I believe.
