    Default Concrete under the lawn

I moved into my new house a few months ago and decided to plant a couple of trees. I've noticed that the lawn both in the front AND rear gardens has been laid on about 3 inches of top soil which itself sits on a level concrete base! Needless to say I can't plant the trees. I've looked at the satellite images of the area that my house now sits on and I can see that there was a house there previously. This is confirmed by the locals. Surely this is a bodge job???!!!! Can they do this and get away with it?

    Hi Fred,

Yes, this is a bodge job and you should ask for an explanation. The grass won't last the summer let alone any other plants!

Good luck, let us know what their reply is
