I paid the £500 reservation fee to Miller homes some months ago. The reservation form clearly states that £250 of the reservation fee will be refunded if I did not wish to proceed with the purchase and this was a also stated by the Miller sales representative - however Miller homes is unwilling to provide me with the refund. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

I've got a similar situation with Saxton Mee Estate Agents in sheffield. I agreed to buy an apartment & gave them a £1,000 non refundable reservation fee & agreed to exchange contracts within 28 days. My solicitor wouldn't let me exchange because the papers provided by the vendors solicitor were not correct. The vedors solicitor failed to provide amended papers & ignored approaches frm my solicitor. Saxton Mee then instructed the solicitor to withdraw the contract! So, here's a great scam - agree to sell a property, send out a duff contract that you know no one will sign & then pull the contract after 28 days & keep the £1,000.
And to top it all the vendors are DIRECTORS of Saxton Mee- Linda Crapper & James Mee.
They're not members of the RICS or the National Associattion of Estate Agents so ther isn't a professional body I can report them to.
Were you successful in getting your money back from Miller homes? If so how did you force them to do so?
I've even followed Saxton Mees complaints procedure & they've basically ignored everything I said. Surely what they've done is fraudulant.
