Hi, I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice. I went to see my new build the other day, and noticed that one of the 3 small windows up the side of the house was bricked up, although the pale stone sill and lintel were still in the wall. When asked, I was told the architect had made a mistake (because some of house layouts had been reversed) and the stairs would be in front of that window. Instead of telling us about the mistake, they decided to brick up the window (with slightly recessed bricks). This means the first thing you notice as you drive up to my house is a mistake on the wall. I have asked for another solution such as frosted glass with a board behind it or something, but it seems as though they are refusing to budge.
I have not exchanged, but do not want to walk away as have invested a lot of time and some money already. The valuer says that the mistake is difficult to quantify in terms of value, but that it may put some off when it comes to resale. Does anyone know if there is anything else that I can do here?
