Default Arranging a visit by a snagging inspector

    Folks,

My new home is due to be finished in December - fingers crossed. I want to arrange , once 'practical completion' arrives , for a snagging inspection. Unfortunately , I've yet to meet the site manager and I wonder if there is some protocol to be followed , or can I simply call him up and ask for access ?

    Thanks

    Ned

Most developers will arrange a time for a tour of the house just after practical completion - they don't like to use the S-word. Tell them that you are planning to bring a snagging inspector along. They all react in different ways, the progressive developers will welcome it, but others will try to talk you out of it or may not allow it. You have a legal interest in the property, so your solicitor will be able to arrange access if there is a problem.

    Kind regards,

    Tony
