After 12 months after the original completion date set by my home builder, I am finally due to move into my new home in the next few weeks.
I've had a little preview of my home, and a couple of frosted glass windows between some rooms have not been included in the finished build, which were in the original plansI'm pretty gutted as they looked pretty good in the plans, and I don't want them to get away with this.
What can I do about this?
Many Thanks B)
The answer should be that you should be able to make them adhere to the agreed plans which are part of the contract. However, there may be terms in the contract that allow the developer to change the plan or specification without consulting you. You need to check this with your solicitor. Barratt Homes recently got pulled up by the Office of Fair Trading for having unfair contractual terms - see: Barratt Homes OFT Complaint
Speak to your solicitor, that's what you pay them for!
Kind regards,
Tony
