    Default Birds in the loft/eaves

    We have been joined in our property by a squadron of birds which have just nested in the eaves of the house, both front and back. Each mrning we are woken by the chirping and flapping around some feet from our head! It appears that they have got in between the lead flashing and the tiles, where the dormer windows on the third floor are installed (we have a 2 1/2 storey Persimmon town house).
    Are the developers reasonsible for sorting this out, as if the gaps weren't there, surely the problem wouldn't exist? I have tried to get to the nest area from the loft space, but the flegdlings are to far down behind the void between the top of the ceiling and the eaves.....what can be done and is this easy to sort out? I am loathe to get Persimmons contractors back as everytime they seem to cause more damage to the propoerty! :?

    new homes are supposed to be designed to stop all kinds of infestations - rats, birds, bats etc. Get them back and supervise their work closely, so they don't create more snags. IMHO it is a mistake just to leave the keys and let them get on with it.

    :roll: Well, Persimmon's new Customer Service Manager (3rd one in two years), has made an inspection and has arranged for reputable contractors to attend to the problem, as they are aware of a design fault with this 2 1/2 storey house! The appraoch adopted by persimmon is to wait until the owners complain, rather than visit each house to tell them of the problem....do they think we are stupid and don't talk to out neighbours???
    This last guy seems genuinely good and we have given him a final list of snags to rectify....I am waiting with baited breath to see if they can deliver.
    He said to me that Persimmon are now focussing on customer service and intend to really get it right....that'll be a nice change, then?
    I will keep the forum updated with progress on this. :lol:

    Nik, The Persimmon house style is called the 'Newbury' and is a 2 1/2 storey detached house.
    As of yet, although they visited the house two weeks ago to take down the details and view the outstanding snagging issues, we have heard nothing since or recieved any written confirmation of the timescale to fix the issues.....it seems to have gone strangely silent....and this was a new Customer Care Manager. Great first impression but nothing to substantiate any confidence of improvements!!!!
    I will not hold my breath oover this.....will update on the unfolding saga here, in due course.
