roof ridge tiles

i have been in my new build home ( dorbcrest homes ) for twelve months, in january it was quite windy and some of the ridge tiles came off. a few houses on this new estate also had the same problem, the builders are still on site.
when i contacted the site manager he said its storm damage and we had to claim on our insurance, i wondered if the tiles had been put on properly in the first place. no other properties surrounding this site had a problem and i wondered if anyone else has had a similar problem and what the outcome was, we have had problems with this house since day one and are getting a bit fed up to say the least.

That is the standard response, have you tried the head office rather than the site manager. They might have a different attitude? If a number of homes have lost tiles on the estate then it is possible that you are correct.

Our new house along with many others suffered quite bad wind damage in January.Housing site is pretty exposed. Ridge/roof tiles etc blown off. Persimmon as a good will gesture fixed all the damage on all the houses. I guess they wanted the site to look good for spring.

David Mclean replaced ridge tiles and verges on our estate too, they didn't ask people to claim on thei home insurance. However, it took them months to get the work done :roll:
