The road outside our home.

We have been in our new home now for 9 months and although all the properties on this development have now been finished and have been for almost a year, the road outside all the proberties is still to be given its top coat of tarmac and for street lighting to be erected. The builder as not been seen for approx 6 months and many of the occupants are now getting suspicious as to wheather it'll be finished at all. :x

We have tried to contact the builder many times, but he simlpy does not return our calls. :x

What are our legal rights as to getting the road finished and adopted by the council and what can we do to put pressure on the builder to get the raod finished.

Dont worry, they will get completed.
Just check that there's no more developments in the area that are due to start. They wouldn't lay the top coat if artic's & dump trucks will be using that route!
My guess will be that it'll be completed in the hot summer months! This is normal.

I wonder if you are entitled to a reduction in Council tax as the road has not been adopted yet.

If everybody from that development complained to there local council, demanding a reduction in council tax, i'd bet the road would certainly get completed sooner!
