:?: As one of the owners in a block of retirement apartments we are having problems withthe roof. It was repaired last year and needs repairing again.
The leaseholder (and management company) which is a housing association, is rumoured to be saying that there is a design fault with the roof. however nothing has been said to us owners.
Arguments about who pays etc. (and we understand that there will not be an insurance claim this time) are ongoing but in the meantime the elderly owners of the 39 aprtments are very worried. How can we be sure that the repairs will be done properly or will the builder just do a bodge up job and in the future we will be faced with the same problem, or even worse in the future. Any ideas? I would find a local building surveyor who you can instruct just to do one job, sign off the roof as fit for purpose.
