    Default independent snagging options

    Hi all

My home recently underwent a substantial renovation / extension project so not technically new build. The project had a Minor Works contract in place. The build went really and it all looks lovely well until just after practical completion / first 'snagging'' where a significant flooring / tiling defect arose, which im working hard with the help of expert others to get them to resolve.

Because of their closed rank poor responses to this defect and the amount of rearguard action im fighting Ive lost all confidence in my builder and contract administrator (who work together, so ive discovered protect and rub each others backs) so im looking to bring in an independent professional to help me prepare any faults for when the final snag list is done between me the builder and contract administrator. Im not expecting there to be many of any significance as he snagged all along and his finishing is very high but i dont want to take any chances and regret later.

Does anybody have any advice or recommendations?

    Cheers
