I don't know if I am being unduly pedantic, but the house we are in the middle of buying has a grey roof, whereas the garage next to it has a red roof. The house we share the garage with has a red roof to match the garage (making it look as though they have double garage and us none).
Is this a valid snag?
I often wonder if anyone (developer or planners) think about these things when they build the house. The house a red brick around the bottom, it is then rendered in cream and then has a grey roof. All other houses to that style have a red roof and look very nice, however, our roof just clashes. E.g. mixing 'cold' colours with 'warm' colours.
Is the external envelope of the house you are buying the same as the neighbour with the red roof? If so ask the builder why your roof is grey.
When receiving planning approval for any development a builder is required to submit samples and colour schemes for the development. This will be on record with your local authority so check out the information that they have on file to see if it is consistent with what has been built.
