Chipped Bath
We bought a newbuild flat over 3 years ago now, which was built by a small local building company. After moving, we were asked to compile a snagging list, which we did, and they fixed all the issues we highlighted.
The only exception to this was the bath, which had a huge dent/chip in it on the day we completed and moved in.
We had taken photographs when we viewed prior to buying, which show the bath being used to store boxes and stuff in, so the builder agreed to repair the bath, but refused to replace it.
3 repairs later, and it's pealing again and the chip is still visible.
The builder has been back sorting out a damp patch (under 10 year guarantee), and another issue that was on the initial snagging list (and in many other flats), so we have asked them to replace the bath, as the repair is not satisfactory. They are refusing.
Where do we stand with this? What should be our next step? They admit the chip was their fault, but aren't willing to fix it. I know it's "just a chip", but it looks awful, and we're looking to sell soon.
I'm presuming it's just a cheap enamel bath (so £100), but what would it cost to get someone in to replace a bath? £100? i.e. would we be within our rights to ask them for £200 (or whatever it would cost for similar bath and labour) to do the work ourselves.
Thanks
