When to snag?
I am in the process of buying a new home from Barratt Homes. It's a three bedroom house, that was previously used as the sales office. The roof is complete but the inside of the property needs to be converted from the sales office to our home.
I have received the mortgage offer and my solicitor is in the process of doing searches etc and I have been given the rough estimate from barrats of being able to move in sometime in June.
I have only recently heard about snagging so haven't mentioned this to barratt or my solicitors yet. Barratts have told me that I will get a 'house tour' 2 weeks before moving in, where I can look around the house.
So, how should I best proceed? I would like to use a professional snagging service, but do I need to tell my solicitor, barratt or both? When's the best time to book the snagging inspection? Should I exchange or complete contracts before snagging?
