Default First house & first set of issues, need advice please

Hi (my first post)

Evening all, well finally took the plunge and bought our first house. Its a new build by Hill Reed in Kent.

Expected a few issue but no were near as bad as what we have. Ultimatly the main problem is when placing a 90cm spirit level on the plasterboard walls the level actually rocks were the wall is not level and the joins in the board are actually visible, second is the decorating is awful, paint runs, splatters, thin paint, etc, etc.

Now on the 1st Sep we have the manager of the customer service department coming to visit as we sent in a letter of complaint. Note : When he called to make appointment I found him quite rude.

Any tips on how I should handle the situation on the day, the house is riddeled with issue and I don't want to miss anything, was thinking post it notes on all the issues. Not really sure what is classed as exceptable and what isn't?

Final thing I spoke to NHBC and they stated that they will get involved if Hill Reed does not resolve.

All advice is welcome please

Make a comprehensive list of all the faults -give them a copy and keep one for yourself and ensure that everything is fixed to the highest standard - maybe even get an independent snagger in to ensure that you have not missed anything - the NHBC seem to have little power - or if they have they don't seem to be very strong at enforcing anything. I wish you all the best. And give them the bill the have an independent survey done.
