Cavity Wall Insulation..

Just written to the NHBC to ask for an investigation in to the reason 11 houses including mine, down our road have had cavity wall insulation pumped in, all at our own cost...

every one on this development complains that the houses are cold..

One couple have even had their bed room dry lined over the existing walls to help with the cold..

I doubt they will investigate,, so if they dont i will be going to the press to force their hand..

Wainhomes i think have streched the rules on wall insulation...maybe someone on here can tell me the minimum requiements..

The walls are 9mm board, thermal block, 4 ins cavity concrete block and render with a very thin cavity insulation (6mm thick) in a pvc cover, cant say i have seen it before..

Also is there a requirement for stainless beads for the render, because mine are now rusting and blowing off the render, the house is only 4 years old

There are many methods so the NHBC standards refer to maintaining a certain temperature when the outside temperature is x. I need to look this up.

If your claim is less that £5000 you could start a small claim.

yes we have Tony

it is something that i need to get resolved because it is driving me mad..

we are also trying to have speed humps fitted and it is now with our local MP because the developer is dragging its heels so the road will be come adopted so they wont have to pay for the cost
