Default Drainage Issues- Back Garden

I am looking for some advice please.

I recently purchased a new property from Stewart Milne. I am having some severe drainage issues in the back garden.

There is an initial severe drop from the back fence then flattens out. The problem i have is when we get periods of rainfall the garden becomes saturated and takes days to clear. The problem is further compounded due to a path that runs directly on the boundary of the property beside the fence. All the water runs naturally into my garden.

SM where absolutly aware of the position as during construction of the property they had compressors in the back garden pumping out the water.

i discussed with site manager who advised that only the first3m on the house applies to drainage issues according to NHBC standards.

I have checked this out and seems to be correct.

Anyone offer up any advise/thoughts on how i tackle this issue.
