Default Gartcosh Site

Hi All

we have now been in 6 weeks into what looks like the fasted building site in the UK. At the start of the project Redrow had estimated 7 years to get the whole site done for 400 homes, most of which are detached houses.

Now the deadline is 4 years and the site manager Calum appears to not care that the quality has suffered ( if he would return calls it would help)

As for snags

Well the house inspection went so well that they missed the fact that we had no gate and 17 SqM of concrete floor in the kitchen which should have a vinyl floor.

The also forgot to tell us about a flood 4 days before we moved in and told us the concrete had been sealed when just a leveller was used ( sales office at fault) and yes we now have 2K worth of skateboarding area in our downstairs because it has come up in different places.

Other clever ideas include putting the thermostat over the hall radiator ( just fixed today) and telling us both items were in the right place!,

Mould had also been growing in the downstairs bathroom, sinks left unattached to walls etc

But hey the problems only really start when you closely at the finish i.e. the wrong bricks have been used, many are at strange angles, mortar is all over the place, (just a shame they did not use it to fill in some of the holes), using the wrong sealant on your windows and applied so badly a 3 year old could do better..

Happy days and over 50 snags to go and growing i.e. we only found out they had put sealant round some of the light switches!
