This is actually an article about me and my partner! Glad it has been picked up and put on this website. Since the 'tile' incident, we had the customer service manager visit us and promise to get our snagging list started from March 30th- well they managed two days, but have since left us without a bathroom to use and haven't been back. Not to mention the state they left the house in. I sincerely regret buying a Persimmon home, not only have we been left with a massive bill for the damage to the car, but we were also told that the sales people had lied to us, telling us if we didn't get tiling, carpets and turf then NHBC would not sign off the house, so we spent approx £3000 unnecessarily! All this came from the customer services manager- hmm, do they actually train their staff? Or do you have to be a special sort of heartless person to sell homes on behalf of them? We have been royally ripped off- and for a home that can't withstand a storm when it is only 3 months old- I doubt it will be standing in 10 years, the NHBC warranty isn't worth the paper that it's written on!

Let Watchdog (BBC) know about this.

Imtiaz Farookhi was on the programme on Tuesday night spouting all sorts of rubbish about the NHBC warranty, so they might be interested in your story.

Persimmon telling you the house would not be signed off if you didn't get tiles, turf and carpets - the person who told you this should be burnt at the stake - utterly disgusting, these people really are scum. Unless of course they were roof tiles, that would be a different matter.

You are right the NHBC warranty is a waste of paper. It is about time these insurance scams were stamped out.

Thank you for your comments Colin- I have been straight onto Watchdog, I want Persimmon to be exposed as the cowboys that they are.

Not only were we told we had to buy all flooring, tiles etc by that sales woman, when we told her we weren't happy with the house her exact response was 'If you don't like it, don't buy it'- customer service at its very best. The manager that visited us also informed us that although they were changing the floor in our bathroom (because it was cracked due to not being level) they will not do it again in 6 months time.

Persimmon just take yor money and run, people are wise to keep away!
