Default persimmon house

i'm an owner of persimmon house (since Jan 2006.) Over last week had problem with what can best be described as rattling noises and occasional ripping sound, when very windy outside, behind the bedroom wall in the cavity between my property and adjoining property. Only recently occured. Seems to be in general area where the metal flue goes down to living room. Anyone experienced similar problems with persimmon homes with relation to this?

Would appreciate any comments ideas before I have to mention to persimmon. Feel better to know a bit about situation as they often try to fob off saying nothing can be done.

Hi, i have been experiencing what sounds to be the exact same problem with my new build persimmon home - my home is a Chesterton on a liverpool development, i have put up with this noise since early December and have had pest control out a number of times thinking it may be creatures of some sort, which i am now convinced it is not. i am about to contact Persimmon re: this mattter as i am at the end of my tether as to what this problem is. Would you mind telling me what type of house yours is and on what site.

I enclose my e-mail address if this is easier.

Many thanks

Katy

Not sure if this will help, but we had a similar thing on our Space4 Blacksmith design house which was built by Westbury but taken over by Persimmon in Jan 06.

With Space4 homes the walls are prefab timber with a hefty insulation layer. Our rumbling sound was like a bin liner tangled in a tree with the wind blowing through it, and it was coming from the cavity near our bedroom window and thundering down the cavity to the lounge below. The site manager was still present and he came to look and under the window was a huge gap into the cavity, and the noise was thick plastic sheeting on a foam expansion pocket that should have been pulled to release and expand the foam. He just pulled the plastic sheeting and the foam expanded to fill the gap and stopped the noise - simple so why wasn't it done correctly in the first place????
