Having read several nightmare senario's regarding Persimmon, I thought I'd just join the hoards ! We originally bought from Charles Church - all very good sales literature, hitting us with key words like quality, high class residential, exellent service - then we moved in, at a time when the 'down turn' hit.
First day we had no phone, so we called BT who came out and found that Persimmon hadn't wired in 'from the grey BT box' - site agent was ademant that they had - until we showed him - he then accepted it!
Second day toilet system kept overflowing , had to shut heating system down and drain system.
Third day .... anyway we had 32 'snagging points' so I'm not going to bore you with anymore, but in summary dont be fooled by the false promises of Persimmon. We have been in this 'prestigous' property now for two years and are still getting issues - leaks, electrics not working, downlighters falling out of roofs etc etc and we have given up trying to speak to Persimmon. As well as this there are still issues from the original snagging list not sorted.
In most organisations if you dont get a response you usually have to go higher up the 'food chain' to get something done...not with Persimmon - my experience with Persimmon is that the higher you go up the ladder the more incompetant the people get. We have had excuse after excuse of why 'its not Persimmons fault'
Our experience has not been a good one, if only I could turn back time, we definately would NOT have bought a Persimmon home. For anyone thinking of using Persimmon THINK AGAIN !!! Our previous home was built new (Wimpy) and yes we did have snags but the difference was that the builder got on with putting things right - anything but the case with Persimmon, who only try and 'fob' you off. Final words 'Caveat Emptor' - buyer beware !!!!!!!
Here here - completely misled by the "quality" of the Charles Church literature. If I could turn back time...
