Hi, can anyone help with this probably very simple question. We have reserved a home but not yet exchanged , but today we have been pushed into completing a finishing touches form and leaving a deposit, is this usual before exchanging?

Hi there

I presume that when you made the reservation you were asked to pay a reservation fee/deposit and that is not the deposit that you are referring to? If you are talking about a payment in addition to the reservation fee then i would be inclined to advise caution. Until you have an exchange of contracts nothing is binding from the side of the developer so why would you make choices of finishing items and be asked to pay an additional monies.
