Hi all, first time poster so please be gentle

We were out at the Parklands development in Glasgow over the weekend and had a look around the 'Bruce' show home. A very nice property and an ideal size for our needs. We discussed the part-exchange process with the sales woman and are at the stage where we are having our existing property surveyed later today.

Having read most of the threads in this forum area I'm now a little concerned about Persimmon. As is always the case, people are more likely to post when they have a complaint rather than when things go smoothly but some of the tactics being reported here really worry me.

We have never bought a new build before so trying to do as much research as is possible before we commit to anything, but with the part-exchange survey happening today we are nearing the point of no return.

Can I ask if anyone has any experience of the Persimmon development at Parklands at all?

Also, how hard should we be pushing in terms of negotiating with them? The list price for the property is £159k but that is just the basics (ie no flooring, no lawn, no stamp duty and no legal fees). I appreciate the negotiating may be a little tricky what with us looking to part exchange but any advice in this area really would be much appreciated.

Thanks!
