Could you tell me whether your neighbour who bypassed Persimmon to get his boiler fixed got reimbersed by Persimmon immediately (or at all?).
We have an Ideal boiler which gave up the 1st week we moved in.
We had trouble with Persimmon customer care getting someone out to us & it took 3 days to get sorted, anyway that's another story.
I have just had something pointed out to me by my next door neighbour who has just had his boiler fixed (after 3 technicians had been out. He went straight to Ideal bypassing Persimmon)
So he recommended I check the boiler user manual, at the back there is a Commissioning sheet that has to be filled out by the installer. His isn't filled in...guess what, neither is mine.
This is a legal requirement it seems.
So Persimmon have broken the law by letting us use the boiler without it being officially commissioned.
Hmmmm time to look into legal action!!

Couldn't tell ya, sorry.
I'm guessing it didnt cost anything as it's by Ideal & it was an Ideal service tech & the boiler is under warranty!
Just found this thread whilst hunting for Persimmons customer care email details etc.
I'm Chris's Neighbour, small world heh
i've not been asked for any money by any of the plumbers who visited
and its been a while now since it was all done (they replaced the whole logic board after me asking them too) and not had any bills or infact any communcation from Ideal
Nor from Persimmon, but then i never expected them to do a follow up call....
