we paid £1300 for hall stairs and living room, purely as we didnt want to move in without any carpets at all, and money was tight. However, after 6 weeks the carpets are , and colour faded. we complained and after 2 months of nagging them the carpet fittersut. They were very rude and unhelpul,, then said they would refer to the manufacturer. We had an "independant" carpet guy ring us, and inspected just before Xmas. The carpet is actually lifting away on the stairs, so I am also guessing poorly fitted (we didnt notice this when the carpet fitter came round )We hear today that the "independant" guy doesnt agree with us, and sorry they can help us no further. The report apparently did mention that the underlay was very thin which could add to the wearing rate. There are two of us, no kids or pets and we both work full time.... I am hoping somebody can advise me of where to turn now...we paid persimmon, so I am guessing its back to them, but our contact is so unfhelpful. Should I get my own report??? Not sure who/how to choose somebody.... thanks for any help.
