Walls not skimmed

Hi Just moved into a new home, found out from the site manager that our property did not have its wall skimmed, but the joints in the dry linning were only taped and filled!

The walls were then painted over, all of the other 6 properties have been completly skimmed (plastered). is this acceptable or do i complain and if so on what grounds, is it against building regs?

the site sales girl told me it was done this way to speed it up so they could complete faster as we are the only ones to have moved in!

Would you have known if he had not told you this? i.e. are the tapes visible?

Hi tony, The tapes are not visable but the walls needed painting again as you could see the plaster board?

I have been told that we should not wall paper (feature walls) because if we came to take it off it would pull the paper from the plasterboard?
