The figures I was given by the NHBC and HBF for 2010/2011 were:
36,687 questionairs sent out
20,355 returned
97,000 provate sector homes built in the period
28,000 affordable homes built in the period not included in the survey.
9-month survey questionaires should be made public.
Whatever questions are asked it is useful to know the answers.
The feedback on parking is interesting. PPG3 has a lot to answer for.
The OFT "survey of surveys" is there for everyone to form their own opinion.
I doubt many will be "getting bored" with inteligent debate, but I agree as far as I am concerned this topic is closed.

better protection when buying a home
Responsible department: Department for Communities and Local Government
Give back power to local authority with regards to building control etc, stop NHBC etc getting away with doing nothing to help homeowners when things go wrong, they were set up to support the homeowner against shoddy workmanship but are now an insurance company that only have the interest of the builder leaving the homeowner with nothing but a guarantee that isn't worth the paper it is written on. Apparently there is an agreement between the local authority and nhbc etc that when nhbc etc are responsible for building control etc they don't step on each each others toes, surely if there is a problem the local authority should be able to assist the homeowner.
