Fixed completion date and snagging

I exchanged on my new build in September 08, and completion was aimed at 25th Oct. Due to issues with the building, this was put off and the issues have now been rectified.
Instead of serving us notice for completion ( I believe 10 days notice) we have been asked to commit to a fixed completion date of Friday 12th. We were asked to do that yesterday.
I have not yet been in to inspect the property, nor have I signed the agreement to fix the completion date.

Should I sign it, and then do the inspection on Friday when I get the keys OR should I delay completion until I have been allowed to check the property myself beforehand?

Help would be appreciated.

Hi there,

Inspect the property FIRST. This is a must. Write down everything that is wrong with it however small or trivial it may seem.
Inform the developer of any faults you see.
If you delay the developer (you haven't said who it is) could turn around and sue you for breach of contract.
Bryant Homes tried this on us so we had no alternative but to move in.
