Solicitors?

Hi,

I read on another message what seems to be advice in NOT using the solictor that the builder recommends.

Is this good advice?

I have no clue what solicitor to go for.

You will probably be ok, but the solicitor has you as a client and a much larger one the developer.

Do a search for convayancing solicitors and get a few quotes?

Thanks. They all come out within a few pounds of each other. On a ?119950 house I am looking at about ?2000 or just under inlcuding the stamp.

I would never personaly use a solicitor the developer recommends!
I dont believe that they would work to your interest if things were to go slightly wrong! They obviously take on a lot of referals from the developer and would not want to lose the business! They would make ?200k from the developer & only ?2k from you!
Choose your own or from a known recommendation!

I know there are only a few on this matter, but please tell everybody you see in the street, at work, in the pub, etc etc.

Solicitors are bigger bums than builders, so imagine having a house built by a bum and then conveyed for you by his mate a bigger bum, snags will be the least of your problems!

They should make it a crime to have a house conveyed by the builders solicitor for the buyer, one day, one day, dream on!

Anyone who buys into this practice is a fool in waiting!
