Hoping to move into my new Wimpey home in the next couple of weeks. I asked if I could do a 'snag' before completion was told it had changed its name to familiarsation. So arranged one anyway. Arrived and was taken around to the house and was told the Sales Executive had already carried one out um! I explained that I would like to personally go round and look. Well, cut a long story short was told no. Is this right that another person would snag mu own future property? I have bought new build before and always completed a snag a week before completion.

Reason: spellings
It is normal for multiple site staff to snag a property - the problem is they ALL miss something. It is also normal for buyers to snag a property after notice is served, unless they have something to hide. Speak to your solicitor they will be able to arrange access for you.
Let us know how you get on.
Tony
BTW The sales staff are on commission and won't want completion to be delayed because of snagging.

We were encouraged by our site manager to snag our house after we moved in, more than once, because we may see things during that period that we didn't before.
