Can someone please inform me we have just bought a David wilson home and it has so many things to be done how long do they take to put it right and also we have a shared drive we are the last house in the row and we have our garage in front of the house whereas all the other houses have the garages at the back so we are the only people driving up that drive (that is what we were told) but now every body is blocking the drive and we have to keep knocking on doors to get to our house who is suppose to enforce that the drive is kept clear does anyone know

Hi Shiraz,

It is a common problem and it may be that visitors do not realise that it is a drive. A small sign may be a simple solution.

Who should put up the sign and also the drive is so narrow so we were told it only an access, the next door neighbour had someone come to fit the aerial and parked the van in the middle when i came home and asked for the van to be moved he refused and started arguing and threatened me and the neighbour had to ask him to move i am at my wits end i have asked the neighbours so many times it is alright for few days and it starts again how can i have this sorted and shouldn't David wilson make sure that the neighbours are aware and put up the sign so that workers do not park there i have mentioned this to liason team and their office but no joy please advice me.

i feel for you. the prob is with new home builders. there is so much they could ve done, but they havent done.
i ve just lodged a complaint with the police against one of my neighbours for threatening behaviour. the scenario is slightly similar. they are actually double parking their van on the road which is already narrow, and no car can pass thru. Obviously, this is an obtruction and it is illegal.
I wonder who actually granted approval or permission to such narrow road as this is the root cause of the prob.
These builders prefer to cramp up houses on new estate on every available land, that they ignore the need for wider road, parking space, play ground etc.
What a shame.
I think u ought to put pressure on ur builders and perhaps complain to ur MP...
But, pls dont be tempted to be aggressive as things can easily get out of hand. Goodluck

Does anyone pay ground rent on their David Wilson property? if yes how much?
I found DW -customer service very unhelpful they always make you hold when calling and transfer your call to different people before you speak to the right person.
we have had a problem with our boiler, since two weeks and it has still not been rectified. This is the third time it has happend in 3 months. The first time the repair person said that 'it was not fixed properly!'
The service is really slow and you really have to pressure and chase them to fix things.

I'm paying £250 a year ground rent for my new DWH - which I think is ridiculous !! They send an invoice every 6 months ..
