I have sent a lengthy email to Pauline Turnbull today outlining the problems that have occurred during the occupation of our brand new home and the outstanding issues and concerns and welcome her reply - I will of course keep this website posted with her respone. Its interesting how the builders are interested in resolving issues that are highlighted on a public website.
regards

Lynne

Lynn,LSM,MCIOB,

If you have responded to paulines request for information,as lynn has said she has done,I can say she will certainlky look into your problems and be very proactive, the complaints I have had have once pauline has got invloved do seem to happen far quicker than if she had not, I am still in the final stages of the last of the works, see above so once they have been finalised Ill give you my on going story. The sad fact with DWH that I have experienced is that the consistancy of the customer care department from paulines department to the regional centres is very much lacking. You are right that it is a shame that it takes a public site to get things done, but if it had not been for the site and pauline checking it(commended in my view that she took the time to,proactive)I would still be dealing with the poor service of the regional centre.

But credit were credit is due, pauline will make sure things happen.

Regards

John

The main reason Pauline Turnbull is interested is to prevent bad publicity for David Wilson Homes. She should spend more time getting the aftercare and customer services department working efficiently to satisfy her paying customers and then she wouldn't have to worry about negative press.

DWH pressured us to exchange and complete within 4 weeks. They have now had access to the house one week beyond completion, seeing to a list of problems we have spotted, i.e. No hot water, doors not hung, obvious things I?d say. We are due to move in on Saturday, and now they?ve decided our water pressure isn?t correct, and need to dig the drive up to sort it! They'll be doing this the day before we move in. I?m less than happy :x . The house was build and waiting for a purchaser, why was this not spotted in the checks?

They don't do thorough checks - just cosmetic. Once they have your money they move on - Good luck you have a long battle ahead. We are 30 months down the line and still have problems.

DWH have now sorted the water pressure issue. Thanks to Pauline Turnbull and her fellow directors standing over the problem till it was sorted. I know the other smaller issues are all being addresses.

Thankyou All

I wouldn't count your chickens until they are hatched. Especially if Mrs T and her merry bunch of men have turned up on the scene. What bigger problems are you yet to find a little further down the line. You see DWH operate a risk based policy, the risk is that you will be taken in and won't notice. Or it might take too much time, effort or stress to actually get things corrected properly and not bodged so you'll do it yourself!!
I presume you have now completed and they have your money.... it may be a different story from now on. You may receive a customer dis servce. The Wilson way...what a joke!!!!

My experience with DWH has shown me not to trust them. They are completely incompetant, the build is rushed, not managed, and when the unsuspecting buyer comes along to ask when snags will be rectified they are lucky if they get half of them done. The trouble is the aftercare team is not interested. They have your money - and off they go with the huge profits to sell to the masses! I would never ever buy from DWH again
