I purchased a house from CN is 2005 and the nightmare began - shoddy build quality, evasive customer service, and cowboys supposedly making good. DONT BUY A HOUSE FROM THEM - worst company I have ver dealt with. Gave up and sold mine last year - best thing I ever did.

Hi Steve and Not 2 happy

I have not been on for ages as I have been tied up with trying to sort the hell house out. Basically I have not got anywhere, at the present moment we are down to just the ensuites in my childrens bedrooms. few months ago crest sent contractors in to retile the master ensuite, family bathroom and downstairs cloak. they have been totally ripped out and thats how they still stand now. Our house stinks because they have not blocked of the waste!! I have tried everything to try and get them to sort this out, even contacted watchdog and certain newspapers but no one is interested. I am today going to go back to NHBC, even if I get nowhere with them at least it is logged that I have tried that route. We have currently spent around 20k on getting to this point, my savings have now gone, i struggle to sleep at night and dont know what else to do now, I have exhausted all my energy! I have had several meetings with customer services and they are useless, MR DIFFLEY still refuses to come out and meet with me.

    Donna,
    How dreadful.
At least you have done the right thing and got all your problems fully documented with the NHBC. It is vital that there is a paper trail in case it needs to go to court. I hope you have copies of everything.

All too often, new home buyers have a friendly chat witht he sales or site manager or make a call to "customer care" and in the end the builder has plausible denial.

I hope you get it sorted out in the end and wish you the best of luck. No new home buyer should suffer as those on this thread have.

This should serve as a red flag warning to anyone considering buying a Crest Nicholson new home!
